This is the true story of an ordinary boy, who his life was going to be changed forever in one single night.

He used to take a break from his homework putting a vinyl on the turntable, opening a Jules Verne’s book and surrendering for some hours in a beautiful game of images and sounds.

Ηe had also passion for the technical drawing. He was enjoying to draw buildings and interiors and was dreaming to be an architect. But one day, something strange was happened…

While he was preparing for sleep, a crazy though came into his mind. He would like to learn how to play the guitar. Rock guitar. It was a simple though at first, deep inside of his mind. Like a nice, quiet summer night while walking on a sandy beach, he suddenly saw a small fire very far away, near the sea. But minute after minute, getting closer and closer, the light becoming brighter and brighter. When he approached so close that he could feel the warm of the flames, there was no turning back. He would like just to sit nearby the fire forever. Next day he made his choice, he was going to start learning how to play the guitar and not only that, but he was going to form a rock band.

Many people tried to convince him, that this should be just a hobby. Some said, that being a rock guitarist is not a dream you should follow, you can’t have a “normal” life. From the other hand, being an architect is a great choice, you can make serious money and if you have money you can have that “normal” life.

He would really like to be an architect. Architecture was a real passion for him, but also this new desire hit him so unexpectedly and so strongly. He couldn’t resist at all and at the end of the day, he couldn’t understand what they mean by saying “normal” life. For him normal, is a life that he would happy to live.

After that, he shaped his own path of this life. He decided to study both architecture and music. His two passions. He used to spend many hours practicing, jamming and composing. He used to keep his head down on his desk, summers, winters, holidays, days and nights and day after day, improving and succeeding time after time, he was becoming more and more dedicated to his dream.

So, after many many years, he did it and became an architect and musician. He really took his life on his own hands by deciding not to live a general accepted life designed by others. On top of that, he has already checked off many of his dreams listed in his bucket list. He has formed his own band, he released his own albums, performed live in some of the most beautiful stadiums and theatres of the world, he has played at a Scorpions show, the group that was accompanying so many times while reading Verne’s books, jammed with the super guitar hero Steve Vai, arranged for and played with Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, but most importantly, he lives happy, feeling gratitude and blessed.

This is the true story of my life. My name is Theodore Kalantzakos and I’m architect by the day, rock guitarist at night.
